The Magnolia Electric Co isn't for everyone. In fact, the video below is hardly going to ping with anyone. It's the nostalgia that I relate to and this sad, soakingly depressing song is put to life support by the video's images. I think I first picked up Magnolia Electric Co in the Summer of 2005, with the album Trials and Errors. The southern roots rock sound gets thrown around the room and if you "get" Neil Young, then you just may "get" these guys. Same for Sun Kil Moon.
This video is even more depressing...I love this song.
