Happy Birthday Hartwick

VOLTAIRE said "What most persons consider as virtue, after the age of 40 is simply a loss of energy” - boy, he aint kiddin! Amazing how the edges round off and everything just mellows out at 40.

While John Hartwick lies by a pool floating in a warm glow of strawberry margaritas today, he will no doubt be contemplating other things of life. He thinks alot. He may be thinking along the lines of another Voltaire quote, “Each player must accept the cards life deals him or her: but once they are in hand, he or she alone must decide how to play the cards in order to win the game.” So far, he's playing his hand with kindness, care and class. Happy Birfday old chap!

Ah, yes, one more thing I just thought of: On an episode of Sex And The City, Carrie is having a birthday and Samantha toastss to her, and says "Welcome to my box!" The proverbial age group box that is. So this morning, with me suffering with one of my world class stomach aches, I welcome Hartwick to his new box. One he shares with several of his people. Because we all know Hartwick was born 40.
