What is Mainstream Melancholy?

- I have a complete aversion to bright overhead lighting. It's a thing with me. Fluorescents in particular are dreadful. Candles and "eyelash" lampshades with dimmers are the only way to light a room past dark. I'm a true Libra - loving art, luxury and beauty, with a particular disdain for loudness, coarseness, disloyalty and violence of any kind - my own brand of intolerance. Married? Been there, picked the wrong guy, gave him the wrong finger. I'm an audiophile and a Morrissey Devotee who writes the occasional music review for the North Shore News. I cringe at Nickleback. My favorite band is still The Smiths, but I adore Canadian female singer-songwriters Joni Mitchell, Sarah Harmer and Kathleen Edwards...along that same note, Lucinda Williams is the saddest girl to write music. She is simply amazing. I'm terribly sentimental and suffer from severe bouts of melancholy, to which I credit my Irish grandfather. I'm a total spaz. I love and adore my cat BudBud; a gorgeous Shaded Silver Persian who suffers from the worst case of crabbiness - he hates everyone. He's also a spaz. I got him from an old boyfriend as a parting gift. The best thing any guy ever gave me.
