Ryan Adams in Vancouver 2007

As I was conveying, the double disc from Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Cold Roses, is all I've been listening to...And by the looks of this clip, he made it to Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom in 2007 without me knowing.

From another Ryan Adams album, Easy Tiger, is the song "Everybody Knows", that I've been all over for weeks. The charm and magic of Ryan Adams is that for his amazingly young age, he writes as if he's in his late 40s.

You come for me in the worst of places
You come for me, you come and try to take me home
I'm always in need and it's hard to be reciprocating
The fabric of our life gets torn
And everything's changing so how I am to know
How I'm going to hold on to you when I'm spinning out of control
You an I together
But only one of us in love
And everybody knows
He says her name, it echoes in my head like it was a canyon
He says her name, he says it and I know what's up
You come to me sometimes when I'm thinking like a cannonball shooting out a canyon
And I forget whatever it was I was thinking about
With everything changing how am I to know
How I'm going to hold on to you when I'm spinning out of control
With out and i together
But only one of us in love
And everybody knows

I believe his latest album recording is Cardinology and the video below is priceless from Letterman - Adams sporting an Iron Maiden t-shirt is pretty funny to me.

Strong Coffee and CoffeeMate

I've confiscated another cd from Steve Jones. Ryan Adams and The Cardinals' double disc album Cold Roses. This morning cleaning up the kitchen and making some heavy duty coffee (then realizing there's an empty vita soy container in the fridge and therefore I'm forced to use the emergency stash of Coffeemate - I know but hey, it's better than black), I thought aloud "I wonder if Ryan Adams is a nice guy?" Of course he's a nice guy - he hangs with Lucinda Williams. And would RYAN Adams come to Vancouver if not to be confused with BRYAN Adams? Would some idiot call out "Sing Summer of 69!"?

Anyways, I can't stop listening to this album even though the new Morrissey album requires a review.
I need an easy plateau.

Let's take a ride to the easy plateau
Where the cold don't come and the wind don't blow
Moonlight flickers on the water below
The orange grove blossoms
In the orange grove
Bad nights lead to better days
It doesn't matter but I think about it anyway

I want a easy plateau
Some place to rest my head
I want an easy plateau
Some place to rest my head
For awhile, for awhile, for awhile
For a little while

Sleepyhead, come on let's take a ride
To the easy plateau in the back of your mind
Up through the alley, take the door under the stairs
My head ain't feeling nothing but cats and rocking chairs
Bad nights lead to better days
It never happens but I think about it anyway
I want an easy plateau
Some place to hang my head
I want an easy plateau
Some place to hang my head
For awhile, for awhile, for awhile
For a little while

How do I hold on to you
If I can't hold on to me
How do I hold on to you
I want an easy plateau
Some place to rest my head for a little while

I want an easy plateau
Some place to rest my head
I want an easy plateau
Some place to rest my head
An easy plateau
